Sixth Grade Party Chair Needed!
At the end of the school year, the 6th graders have a wonderful end of year party together following the Award Ceremony. The party has been done for many years, and there is an extensive notebook of details on food, entertainment, decorations, etc. The jobs are broken down so the entire party doesn't rest on one parent's shoulders; however, we do need one or two parents to co-chair this event. If you are interested in chairing the Sixth Grade End of Year Party, please contact Teresa at teresalemair@aol.com

Web Master Needed
The Mantua PTA is in need of a Web Master to update and maintain the PTA website as needed throughout the year. Please contact Paige Rushing at paigerushing@gmail.com for details.

Spring Fling!
New this year! The Mantua Spring Fling will be held (in leiu of our traditional Carnival) on Saturday, March 29th, with the rain date of Sunday, March 30th. We are still in the planning stages for this new event, trying to create a day of fun that joins some new activities and games with some of our carnival traditions. If you would like to be involved and/or take a committee chair position, please contact Meri Farling at merifarling@hotmail.com.

Mantua’s Peer Mediation Program
Mantua offers Peer Mediation as an option for students to resolve conflicts. Select 6th graders have been trained in brief conflict resolution and the mediation process (introductions, going over the ground rules, getting each student’s side of the story, finding out what each student needs, brainstorming solutions, and coming up with an agreement that both sides are happy with). Parents, teachers, or students may make a referral by contacting Mantua’s Mediation Coordinator, Allison Warren. Both students must be willing to attend Mediation and agree to solve the conflict. All Mediations are supervised by Mrs. Warren. If the issue involves more than 2 students or a violation of the SR&R, Mediation would not be appropriate. If you would like to opt your child out of these services or if you have any questions, please email Allison.Warren@fcps.edu
