Mantua's 2013 Book Fair was a big success!! Restaurant Night on December 5th
Mark your calendar for a post-Thanksgiving Family Fun Restaurant Night! The Mantua PTA is hosting the event at UNO Chicago Grill at 3058 Gate House Plaza on Thursday, December 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Come and eat UNO's famous Chicago deep dish pizza! If you prefer something else, then choose from a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, meat and seafood entrees, pastas, pizzas and desserts. Some dishes are gluten free. There is a kid's menu, too! Come and dine-in or takeout and present the Mantua PTA Dough Raiser flyer at the time of purchase for the school to receive 20% of the evening's proceeds. Dough Raiser flyers will be sent home in Tuesday folders. Buon appetito!

5-Below has everything for your holiday shopping needs and the best part is that EVERYTHING is $5 or less! Even better, from Black Friday, November 29th -Sunday, December 8th, 5-Below in Fair City Mall is giving back 10% of every dollar purchased to the Mantua PTA. All you have to do is print this flyer and bring it in with you: http://www.mantuapta.org/documents/5below.pdf. Another copy of hte flyer will be sent home in this week's Tuesday folders. Please note: you must have the flyer with you for Mantua to receive the 10%!


Shopping Online Benefits PTA
When shopping on Black Friday, don't forget to link to your favorite shopping websites like Amazon.com and BookBenefit.com through the Mantua PTA website.

Simply go to www.mantuapta.org , and you will find the Amazon link on the front page of the Mantua PTA website. From there, you can shop to your heart's content, and the Mantua PTA will get a percentage of all sales! You can shop at multiple stores through the BookBenefit link, including Bob's Shoes and many educational websites. Holiday shopping just got easier and you will be giving back to our school with every dollar you spend!


Mantua Yearbooks
The Mantua Yearbook coordinators are happy to inform you that it's time to place an order for your 2013-14 yearbook! Our yearbook this year will be slightly bigger, with more candid photos for each class. It will have a soft laminated cover as well – and, all of it for the same price as last year's book - only $25!

Please note that in order to cut costs, you may place your orders ONLINE only. We encourage you order your yearbook in the next couple of weeks. Your prompt response will assure that it gets printed and shipped to your child on time at the end of the year and that you will avoid an additional late-order charge of $10. Also, please remember to take pictures during your student’s class parties, outings, and other school events and submit them to us at the email address listed below. Please be sure to put your teacher's name in the subject line.

GIVE Free Tutoring
GIVE offers a free tutoring program to elementary school students (grades K-6) who need help in school. Students will be paired with high school tutors for a year-long mentoring program. Students and their tutors will meet at Thomas Jefferson Library (7415 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church) on Saturdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Jason Huang at directors@giveyouth.org.

Translators
Translators comprise another vital part of our outreach efforts. We want every Mantua ES family to feel included and connected—should families need to have a document translated into their native language, our volunteers are here to help!
