Happy Holidays!
'Tis the season to celebrate- Ramadan, Hanukkah, Christmas, the New Year (fingers crossed for you, 2021, don't let us down!)... I know this year is much much different than those in memory for most of us, but there are still reasons to celebrate!
Joining Forces at the Holiday Party We will be assembling Stockings for Soldiers' Angels at our Holiday Party on Sunday at 2pm. Join us for some good, CLEAN, Service for Sight fun in packing these up for soldiers and veterans across the globe! RSVP here. The event has safety precautions such as masking and sanitization requirements, as well as a sticker system for you to easily indicate your comfort level with social contact, so you can celebrate safely. We will also have a "drive thru" option if you are extra cautious but would like an ornament and some delicious hot cocoa!
Doing Good in ATL WOW! I am completely blown away by how many service hours we were able to turn in to EO on November 15. The final breakdown included 84 Service for Sight hours and 304 Non-Service for Sight Hours! Let's aim to match this for May 15 and essentially double our annual total! You can send me your November 11-June 30 (include your best guesstimate of what you'll accomplish after the deadline) by May 10 by emailing me at Foundation@atldg.org .
Atlanta-Funded Scholarship Winners This year, we were able to fund scholarships for each of our three local collegiate chapters. Congratulations to the three absolutely outstanding women who applied for and earned these grants! Their resumes were so impressive, and they all sent personalized, handwritten notes of thanks to our chapter for the financial support they received. Empowering and developing these women is what Delta Gamma does best, and I'm so proud we can support them. Kudos to the Dream Girls below: Francesca Dellasala, Delta Iota- Georgia Lauren Kenyon, Delta Sigma- Auburn Lauren Cumming, Eta Chi- GCSU
"Due" Good On that note, did you know that 60% of your local dues payments support Foundation-related initiatives such as the scholarships for local collegians described above and hosting the annual Red and White Ball? That means that if you pay the $50 bronze level, $30 is going to these great projects! You can pay your dues here.
Venues Needed! Speaking of the Red and White Ball, our usual location is currently unable to book us due to the rising cases of COVID-19. Do you know of or have VIP access to local pavilions, parks, or even large parking lots? We need you! Both Red and White Ball and the Mommies Group-sponsored Touch-A-Truck event are in need of larger, well-ventilated spaces to host these wonderful events for our community and Center for the Visually Impaired school-aged clients. Please contract me at Foundation@atldg.org with any tips.
Wishing all of you healthy, safe, and very happy holidays!
