Are you a Halloween enthusiast ready for a little Hocus Pocus? Welcome to the October 2020 edition of the Foundation Focus!

Fall Festival 2020

Now that there is a chill in the air, we are excited to merge Mommies Group with Doing Good in Atlanta by hosting our Second Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17 from 10am to 12noon (some details in the invitation originally also noted it would be held on the 18th, so please double check that calendar!). You can RSVP here if you'd like to volunteer or to Trick or Treat in a safe, physically distant way with your family! We are also asking sisters to decorate and outfit a table with yummy prepackaged, nut-free treats

Per Delta Gamma and local/state regulations, all participants must be masked during this event, and we ask that you take your temperature prior to the event. Do not attend if you have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19, as not only do we want to keep the chapter safe, we are also charged to Do the most Good by keeping CVI families with medically fragile children safe and healthy as they take an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy a morning of fun!

Not comfortable with in person volunteering just yet? No worries! We also are in need of sponsorships to help decorate and buy treats and to help our CVI families who will be traveling to  use safe transportation to join in the festivities. Sponsorships run from $25 to sponsor a table (and we will set up all of the treats and decorations) to $60 to sponsor a round trip for CVI families to safely Uber to and from the North Springs MARTA station. You can also make a monetary donation of any amount.

Are you a shopaholic like me or just love putting that Prime account to good use? We also have Amazon and Oriental Trading wishlists you can order from! Please submit orders by October 12, and email our Mommies Group chairwoman Katherine Robeson, Delta Iota - Georgia at mommies.group@atldg.org for a mailing address if you use the Oriental Trading option or use the address listed at the bottom of this email.

Keeping Our Community Safe

If you are comfortable volunteering, both Delta Gamma Executive Offices and your local Atlanta board have created guidelines for volunteering. As the vp: Foundation, I take your and our community groups' safety very seriously, and I ask that you acknowledge and follow these guidelines prior to and while volunteering. While there are some volunteer opportunities, such as the vision screenings, which per PBGA guidelines are much stricter, the following baseline guidelines will apply to ALL events until further notice:

1) Participants must be masked while volunteering or participating. If you would not like to wear a mask, I will provide virtual or sponsorship opportunities as your alternative to participate.
2) Participants must take their temperature prior to attending any in person Foundation event. Participants with a temperature higher than 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit are asked not to attend for the safety of all involved.
3) Participants who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within 14 days or who are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or have experienced these symptoms within 10 days of the event are asked not to attend the event, again for the safety of all involved.

Please understand that my only interest is the safety of our chapter and our families, as well as the families of the communities in which we are volunteering. I must emphasize that many of CVI's clients have underlying medical conditions which can put them at additional risk for serious complications. We must all make hard decisions in order to make sure we are Doing Good and not placing our communities at risk, but I will strive to always provide alternatives for you to participate if you are unable to attend or not yet comfortable doing so.

I hope to see you at the Fall Festival! Please consider sponsoring if you can!

As always, please submit your service hours (we will take a peep at Service for Sight and the *new* Do Good hours in our next edition!) from July 1 by December 10, so I can showcase all of the wonderful things our chapter is involved in to EO!

Have a Boo-tiful October and we will meet again next month!

itb,
Jordan Crawford
