3 BIG EVENTS COMING UP IN MARCH AND APRIL Founders Day - Night of Knowledge & Nonsense - Trolley Run Plus much more......click on the links to learn more
Dear KC Delta Gammas,
"We went to a local jeweler and had our pin made – the letter ‘H’ which stood for hope, for we hoped great results and have not been disappointed" - Mary Comfort Leonard We’re so excited to celebrate Founders Day on March 3rd. This will be a true celebration of sisterhood -- Don't you love the traditional Chapter Roll Call? Such a great reminder of how many different chapters of initiation are represented in our alumnae chapter and our sisterhood also spans many different decades of initiation. We are so fortunate that Delta Gamma experience does not end after college. Instead, our sisterhood broadens to give each of us the chance to continue our involvement in the way that fits our unique circumstances. Mu (Missouri) and Beta Kappa (Kansas) collegiate chapters have both extended an invitation to join them for Founders Day celebrations in Columbia and Lawrence. See the Mark your Calendar section for links.
I’ve been honored to serve as your President this year and can’t believe how fast the time is flying by! We have lots of big and exciting things coming up to wrap up the year. Next up - Night of Knowledge & Nonsense! Check out the DG Want Ads to learn ways to help with our fundraising event!
Make plans to attend our final gathering of the year, Fiesta del Delta Gamma where we celebrate our year! More details in the Programming section!
It is a Convention year - be sure to submit your service hours – regardless of whether they are service for sight or for ANY organization. Please don’t hesitate to share how you’ve been doing good in the world. (Click the icon to learn more!)
In the bonds, Susan Kastner, Mu

SUPER DUPER NEWS
The Delta Gamma Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to CCVI for the 2018-2019 school year to fund braille education for students. With this donation CCVI will be able to provide 113 hours (2.5 hours per week) of braille instruction services next school year.
From the beginning, Nicola Heskett planned to serve as CCVI’s Executive Director for 5 years. THANK YOU Nicola for your extraordinary leadership, AND for staying on a 6th year to oversee the celebrations surrounding the 65th anniversary of CCVI’s founding!
A committee is in the process of searching for a new Executive Director. For information, call CCVI at 816-841-2284. The deadline for applying is March 15.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT.... That after 66 years, CCVI is still the only specialized school in Greater Kansas City to provide services to children with visual impairments from birth through school age?
That the number of children and their families who receive this service would grow from 8 to over 250?
That although CCVI started off only serving visually-impaired children, it is now a full-service organization, for children born with other disabilities as well?
That after the many, many years CCVI was located in a church, it is now in a state-of-the art building, which includes a swimming pool, playground, and Sensory Garden?
That if you take the time to tour CCVI, you will be amazed by what happens each day?
That after the tour, and like those DGs who have come before you, you will be determined to make a difference, whether it be volunteering in the classroom or at a fundraiser, or giving financial support?
That 20/20 Club offers all of the above opportunities?
If you are interested in volunteering, contact Debbie Link, M, 20/20 Club Liaison, at 816-769-5002 or debbiebertramlink@gmail.com
If you would like to lend financial support, membership fees for the 20/20 Club are $40, or $70 a pair, and qualify you for free, fun, friendraisers, and discounts on events like SPECTACLE, which was $25 less than the ticket price for members.
Click HERE if you are interested in joining the 20/20 Club, and thank you for your consideration!

At the end of January, the women of Mu Chapter welcomed 19 wonderful new members into our chapter! Our Winter Wonderland Bid Day was a huge success as we all warmed up to our new sisters! We can’t wait to see what these amazing women will contribute to Delta Gamma!
We also hosted our first sisterhood event of the year, which was held in our huge chapter room at our lovely house. We brought in two Zumba instructors, and danced the night away!
And speaking of dancing, we held our annual Crush Party on Valentine’s Day at Willie’s in the Distric. Our crush could be someone new, a boyfriend, or even a best friend. We made signs with our date’s name, and dressed the part in red, pink, or white dresses. We are currently involved in RAMS (Rockin’ Against Multiple Sclerosis), which includes Rock ’N Bowl, Speaker’s Night, a 5K Runnin’ Against MS, and Trivia Night. The philanthropy event ends with the Rock It dance competition, which I’m sure many of you danced in as collegians!
Coming up in March, we will have our third annual Hoops for Troops basketball tournament to raise funds for Delta Gamma Foundation’s Joining Forces campaign. We pride ourselves in upholding our motto to “Do Good”, and thank you for any support you can give.
Last, but certainly not least, we invite you to join us for Founders Day on Sunday, March 11. Women of all chapters are welcome to attend, as we celebrate our three Founders, and our extraordinary Delta Gamma Fraternity. To register, or for further details, please email me at mudgalumnaerelations@gmail.com MUFounders In the bonds of sisterhood,
