Welcome Back Silver Spur families! And to all those new to Silver Spur – Welcome to our Bronco community! On behalf of the Silver Spur PTA, I would like to extend a warm and sincere welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a relaxing and rejuvenating summer! We are excited for the 2021-2022 school year! Silver Spur is an amazing place and we are so fortunate to have such amazing teachers and staff. This year, we also have a fantastic PTA Executive Board who has already been working these past several weeks to plan for an exciting, impactful and memorable year for our students and Silver Spur community. The PTA is a non-profit organization run by volunteers and parent-members like YOU. We all work together to provide enrichment for our students beyond regular curriculum. And we welcome your ideas, input and participation! Please complete your online Registration Packets, join the PTA, and come to our monthly PTA meetings! These are invaluable ways to stay connected and informed, as well as make a difference at our school. Although we will still not be able to gather on campus to start the year again, we are hopeful that this situation will improve and we will be able to safely gather and participate in all our favorite Silver Spur activities again soon. In the meantime, please be flexible and patient with us as we work to keep up with the ever changing environment. Let’s make it a great year! Let’s go Broncos! Best, Jen Cox Siler Spur PTA President silverspurptapresident@gmail.com

ANNUAL FALL FUNDRAISER
Join us as we celebrate our annual fall fundraiser, A Night in Monte Carlo on Oct 22nd at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
We will be raising funds to finally build our much-needed permanent Shade Structure, as well as, completely rebuild our Bronco gardens.
The gardens have deteriorated beyond repair and need brand new planter boxes, educational boards, and modernized irrigation.
The Shade Structure and new gardens will increase our children’s opportunities for outdoor learning.
We are seeking donations for the raffles and auctions. Items that have been big hits are: fun and unique experiences timeshare/vacation homes new technology gadgets autographed memorabilia
We also love donations of prizes such as: restaurant/hotel gift certificates summer camps art/music lessons and sports team lessons spa services tickets to collegiate and professional sporting events concerts Basically, if you can donate it, we will happily accept it! As in previous years, we are also asking families to host "Sign Up Parties". Will you host a themed kids' party? An Ugly Holiday Sweater Party? Moms' Night Out? Poker Night? Neighborhood Progressive Dinner Party?
Please consider gathering a few families together to sponsor a party. Parties always sell out quickly and contribute significantly towards our goal.
Remember to buy your event tickets early.

Please contact Mary Ann Vu, 6th VP of Ways and Means at silverspurpta6vp@gmail.com with any questions. Thank you in advance for your generosity in making this event a success!
Welcome Judith! Our New Head Custodian
Please join us in welcoming Judith to our Bronco family! We are so happy to have her join us as our new head custodian! Please say hello and introduce yourself as you see her around campus! This year at Silver Spur, we will be celebrating different cultures or people groups on a monthly basis! The themes will coincide with nationally recognized and celebrated groups. With the help of our 3VP of Education, our DEI Committee, and parent volunteers (Like YOU!), students will have the opportunity to learn about new and interesting people and cultures, both locally and abroad. This will be done through assemblies, lunch bunch activities (as allowed), classroom based enrichment, and ideas sent home as optional resources for families!
September is National Hispanic Heritage Month! Be on the look-out for more information as to how we will be recognizing and learning about Hispanic culture this month!
