Save those Box Tops!! Box Tops is an easy way to earn money for our school! Just by purchasing Box Tops products, clipping the coupons and sending them into school, we earn cash that can be used to buy anything we need. Send them to school in a ziplock bag labeled with student's name. Keep clipping and collecting! Thank you for supporting Silver Spur!

Welcome Back Silver Spur Broncos!
I hope that everyone was able to rest and recharge with their families over the break. I am excited for the new year and all the wonderful things to come in 2020! We have some important decisions to make in our community for the future of our schools.
VOTE YES FOR PV
Voting Yes on this measure will help maintain Palos Verdes Peninsula’s excellent schools. Schools that attract young families and lead to high property values, protect our investments, and make this community a great place to live.
Our schools average 60 years old, and most have not been renovated in almost twenty years. Investing in our schools now is fiscally responsible. Pushing the burden off until later will significantly increase costs as conditions continue to deteriorate and construction costs escalate.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula School District receives a below-average portion of state funding, which strains schools’ budgets. The quality of our facilities has already fallen below our neighboring districts, all of which are investing more in their schools.
Passing this measure will guarantee that one hundred percent of the funds go directly back to our schools, with complete local control of how the money is spent. A local independent commission will be appointed from members of the community to review and audit all spending.
Funds will go towards retrofitting school buildings to meet new statewide seismic codes and improving earthquake safety; increasing access to safe, good quality drinking water; updating fire safety and security systems; complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act, so all students will have the same access to education as their peers; repairing deteriorating school roofs.
I am excited about this measure as it will provide updated playgrounds, air conditioning for the MPR, updated restrooms and much more at Silver Spur.

They were given out at their Annual Breakfast With Santa event on December 14th, where 500 children and their parents attended. Families received a hot breakfast, visit with Santa and shop in Santa’s workshop where there were toys, pajamas and books!
