Learn how to properly be a guide runner, hiker, or walker for an individual who is blind or visually impaired
• Use a tether to run or walk with the athlete o Communicate changes in direction with tether o Run/walk slightly ahead of athlete with visual impairment • Practice communicating kinesthetically and verbally with athlete • Learn to keep right amount of tension on tether o Enough tension to communicate movements quickly o Kept loose enough for natural arm movement
The NWABA provides life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Please attend the workshop and be a part of helping those with visual impairments to walk, run, and hike.
