By funding Project Youth Center's Gift Shop, you will be giving our local Teens a whole new approach in Succeeding in a positive direction. Our Gift shop is the first step in this direction. It will get teens off the streets and provide jobs for after school and weekends. This will be incorporated in the youth center itself. This is the stepping stone, to get teens involved and set the stage for the center. Programs the Youth Center will be providing are Manufacturing, selling and marketing, Crafts: Candle making, Jewelry making, Pottery, Needle crafts, Latch hooking and Weaving, Video and Movie Productions, Exercise and sports equipment, Book Club to enrich literacy, D.A.R.E and anti-drug abuse, Dramatics Club: Plays, Short stories with fund raising performances, Culinary: Learn new recipes, cook and bake for fund raising. Gardening/farm stand, Journalism/newspaper and newsletter club, Leadership roles, team work and most importantly social skills needed to become productive adults.
Statistics show that incorporating these fundamental stepping stones into the everyday lives of teens have significantly improved self-confidence and self-esteem and has has exhibited significant declines in problem behaviors and drug use.
