Join us for our annual fundraiser, Swim and SUP the Sound 2019 and Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 2nd. 

Race categories are as follows:

One Mile Swim
One Mile Assisted Swim (mask, fins or mermaid costume...feel free to get creative)
Two Mile Swim
Two Mile Assisted Swim
2.5 Mile Stand Up Paddle-board (SUP)

Race Entry Fee: $100 if you sign up before Friday, May 31 or $125 to sign up the day of the event. Includes transportation to/from Trellis on day of event, lite breakfast on board the ferry, event long sleeve tech shirt, goodie bag and lunch buffet.

Waiver: Please read this year’s waiver found on VISAR's website event page. For those signing up in person at VISAR's Base or day of, we will have a paper waiver for you to sign. 

Transportation: Speedy’s will be running a special ferry for the event which will leave at 7:45am from Trellis Bay and will leave Leverick at 2:15pm.

Cheer Squad…This is a perfect event to bring your friends and family along to cheer you on!  Round trip ferry ride and Leverick Bay’s Famous BBQ lunch is only $55 for adults and $35 for kids.  Due to space limitations on the ferry, tickets must be purchased in advance.  If you’re already on VG, BBQ prices are $25 for adults and $10 for kids under 12.

Family Fun Day: We will have kids beach/pool games starting at 10am with family games at 12:30pm! New this year, BVI Snuba will be offering 8 spots for children 10-15 years old to try out Snuba.  Parents will need to sign a release form before the race.

Make it a weekend but don't forget to mention your a contestant…

  • Leverick Bay Hotel is offering a local rate of $100 per night plus tax, please call 542.4014 to make a reservation. Book soon while they still have rooms.
  • Our sponsor Carefree Boating Club/Island Time Rentals would like to offer 10% off for boat rentals to attend the event.  Give Julien a call at 340.0357 to book. 
  • Speedy’s discounts:
    • Registered contestants can pick up a special ticket at VISAR’s base which allows them to take any Speedy’s ferry on Saturday, June 1 Tortola to Virgin Gorda for free. 
    • Contestants can then pre-book a taxi for $5 off the regular fare ($30 up to 4 passengers) to Leverick Bay from The Valley. To book, stop by Speedy’s ferry dock in Road Town or call 495.5240.
    • Contestants can also pre-arrange a rental vehicle for $52.50 by calling 495.5240.  You can arrange with Speedy's to collect the rental at Leverick Bay on Sunday, June 2nd. Book soon while they still have rental cars available.  
  • Oil Nut Bay:
    • Limited availability so don’t miss out!  Sign-up today to secure your space.
    • Experience Nova, Oil Nut Bay's new overwater restaurant, bar and lounge.  Enjoy a selection of complimentary bites from the Nova menu along with a welcome toast, exclusively for the Swim & SUP Attendees. 
    • Full bar and new craft cocktail program available, based on consumption. 
    • Complimentary Ferry from Leverick Bay at 5:00pm, returns at 7:30pm
    • Contestants friends/family are welcome but must be signed up for the Cheer Squad in order to attend.
SUP'ers: Sail Caribbean Divers (office 541.3483 or corri@sailcaribbeandivers.com) is happy to transport your board to The Sound for the race. Drop off time is Saturday, June 1st between 8am-5pm. They are offering SUP rentals for $20 for the day ($30 discount), please call their office to reserve a board.  Breeze Paddle Surf, Blue Rush Watersports (Leverick Bay), BVI SUP, and Island Surf & Sail also rent boards.

Tentative Schedule of Events…

Registration begins on Sunday, June 2nd at 8:30am at Leverick Bay.

7:45am*: Speedy’s Ferry will leave Trellis Bay for a direct ride to Leverick Bay
9:30am | 10am: Boats will leave Leverick Bay for Bitter End Yacht Club Dock
10am: SUP race starts
10am: Kids activities start (arts and crafts, frozen shirt contest, relay race and treasure hunt)10:15am: BVI Snuba free lesson begins
10:30am: 1 and 2-mile swim race starts
11am: BBQ begins
12:30am: Family games begin
1:30pm: Trophy’s will be awarded, raffle winners announced and Tug of War
2:15pm: Speedy’s will depart for Trellis Bay
