Over the past decade colleges have begun to acknowledge, appreciate, and understand the unique needs of students with ASD. As a result, support and accommodations have improved. Join Jan Kerchner, Founder and CEO of The College Blueprint, LLC. share information on autism-friendly college programs. This presentation will include information on the range of services to support ASD students and how to evaluate if a college is a good fit for your student. Examples of colleges with solid programs will be included.

About the Speaker
Jan Kerchner, Certified Educational Planner and CEO of The College Blueprint, founded her consulting practice to provide a resource for families, similar to hers, who have students diagnosed with Learning Differences, ADHD, or ASD.  For over 20 years, Jan and her team of experienced counselors have provided comprehensive services for thousands of students with learning differences, ADHD, and ASD. In addition to working with private students and families, Jan consults with school districts and has founded numerous college readiness programs in southern California. She is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) with a Learning Disabilities (LD) designation. Jan is a Certified Educational Planner and taught a course- Counseling Students with Learning Differences – for the University of California, San Diego Extension. She  is currently a member of the Advisory Committee for UCI’s Educational Consultant Certificate Program,
 
She holds an MBA from Cornell University, B.S. from The College of Health and Human Development from The Pennsylvania State University where she serves on the Philanthropy Council for the College of Health and Human Development. Jan received her Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA culminating with a residency at the Learning Effectiveness Program for students with learning differences at the University of Denver.  
 
Jan and her husband raised three children with AD/HD. All three have graduated from college, are launched in their own professional careers.
