The Norwich Historical Society’s mission is to preserve, protect and promote the rich history of Norwich, CT. Each year, the Norwich Historical Society hosts our most popular event: The Antient Ghosts of Norwich which is an evening guided tour through the Colonial Burying Ground in Norwichtown. The Antient Ghosts of Norwich tour is a part of the Last Green Valley’s annual Walktober celebration.

As dusk approaches, guides escort visitors on a winding path, lit by flickering luminarias through the Burying Ground where visitors hear local ghostly legends and folklore as well as some history of colonial Norwichtown. As visitors stroll through the Burying Ground, they’ll meet some friendly spirits who have a story to tell and they will come across some spooky scenes with skeletons and witches dotting the landscape.

There will be three tours leaving the Norwichtown Green on Friday October 28, 2022 at 6:30pm, 7:00pm, and 7:30pm – each tour will be limited to 30 people each. Please register and purchase your ticket(s) in advance at norwichhistoricalsociety.org. Tickets go on sale October 1, 2022. No walk-ins will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Norwich Historical Society. Special thanks to CT Humanities for making this event possible.
