Are Irrevocable Trusts Really Irrevocable?: Redeeming ILITs and other Irrevocable Trusts
Speaker: David K. Cahoone, Esquire, David K. Cahoone, PA, Of Counsel, Johnson & Browning

Join us for this half-day program.
8:30am arrival/networking - 12:30pm end time

Are Irrevocable Trusts really “irrevocable?” In 2017, the prevailing professional wisdom seems to be that you can always make the changes your client (whomever that may be) wants to an existing irrevocable trust through trust decanting, trust protectors or judicial modification. David will quickly review each of those options and focus on several additional solutions to fix an irrevocable trust plan “that has gone bad” when the statutory or common law remedies of decanting and judicial modification won’t achieve the desired results.

David will also lead an up to the minute conversation on the challenges and opportunities for professionals advising their clients in 2017 and beyond under the cloud of major Federal tax reform legislation.

Whether you’re an experienced trusts and estates attorney or new to this area of practice, you won’t want to miss this program! Register now!

We will then conclude with our Massachusetts Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys Annual Meeting which will include voting for the upcoming year's Board Members and Directors.
