The Chytrid Outbreak Awareness Campaign is an HCI initiative to spread awareness of the Chytrid amphibian pandemic to private land holdings, and ecolodges to equip them with best practices and basic information. Around the world many private reserves and lodges are still fully unaware of the dangers humans can pose, as vectors of this lethal amphibian pathogen. As travelers venture from location to location, their boots, and other equipment pose a serious environmental risk if not properly sanitized. Many of these travelers and even the property owners themselves are potentially threatening biodiversity without even knowing it. To help inform both owners and visitors to these locations, HCI is publishing a series of posters translated into multiple languages for these properties to display. The poster includes a QR Code and weblink where inquiring minds can learn more about the topic. In addition HCI will provide basic Chytrid info pages to the locations, to help educate them on the topic. Your donation will go directly to the printing and shipping costs of this project.
