Hi, this is Jodee, the Jog-A-Thon chairperson for this year.

We all had high hopes of being able to finish school in the classroom this year but sadly that is not to happen. Unfortunately, the schools were closed just a few days before our St. Patrick’s Day Jog-A-Thon, our biggest fundraiser of the year, funding more than 50% of our annual budget.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am too, along with the hats the kids got to decorate in class for the day, we had bubble machines, balloons, music, streamers, rainbows & pots of gold all set. Also, some fun awards for most spirited dressed, biggest cheerleader, most laps, most effort ready to go. I had the certificates printed & mini pots filled with gold coins ready too.

My 4 leaf clover pants, rainbow socks & leprechaun shirt are now packed away but that does not mean I have forgotten about everyone.

We are aware that many students had already collected donations for our school, and we want to get them the prizes they have earned (donations may still be collected but please don’t pressure anyone who may be struggling in this time). We also recognize that you, the parent, might want them to earn those donations.

****We are going to have a VIRTUAL EXERCISE-A_THON Saturday May 2nd. ******

So, we have some suggestions. Have your student do Jumping Jacks, Run in Place, Jump Rope, Hop on 1 foot, Push Up’s, Ride their Bike, Walk around the Block, Cartwheels for a set amount of time, i.e. Bike, Run, Walk for 25 minutes, Jump, Hop, Push Ups for 5 minutes. Let them see how many they can do in that time then send a challenge to a friend, neighbor, family member. Have fun with it, let them work some of that energy off. If you are comfortable sharing photos or videos, you can do so on our Facebook event page.

We have TWO options for turning in donations collected. You can either mail in checks only to P O BOX 284, Keyport, WA 98345, or you can pay electronically through our websites Jog-A-Thon fundraiser page. You will find the revamped list of available prizes & prize order form here

We understand that this is a financially hard time for many, and we do not want anyone to feel like they must make a donation in their child’s name to participate in the fun.
