Learning Gate Garden Party Planning Meeting
Our first Garden Party meeting was a huge success. Our next meeting is planned for 10/29 at 8:30. Please join us to continue planning this first of it's kind event. We'll meet at the office and then walk over to map out the areas at the Gardens. We are looking for some creative visionaries to help transform our garden area for the ultimate Garden Party Luncheon for local business leaders, County Commisioners, School Board members, & more.
Please email michelen@learninggate.org to get involved!
Pond Cleanup Volunteers
We are excited to announce a unique volunteer opportunity at Learning Gate Community School. November 1st we are looking for hardworking volunteers to help us remove some invasive plant species in order to restore our pond's ecosystem. We will be skimming off a floating plant that is covering the pond in the front of the school and hauling out an invasive grass. Sign up for a volunteer slot here
Pond Cleanup Needs A Truck with a Winch
Also, as a part of cleaning up the pond, we are looking for someone with a large truck with one of those cable winches on the front. We would like to use it to try pulling a mat of floating plants out of the pond. Please contact jim@learninggate.org
Hanna Road Book Fair Needs Volunteers!
Volunteers are needed for our annual Hanna Road book fair! This is a great opportunity to interact with the children while spending time in our historic log cabin library.
Monday through Wednesday, we need volunteers to assist the children with locating books on their wish list, tallying up dollars spent amounts. Then Wednesday through Friday, volunteers would be helping the children with their shopping list. This is a great volunteer opportunity for grandparents who have time to do some volunteer hours for your family. Please sign up here
Heron Hike Fun Run Needs Physical/Mental Health Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping us plan and put on Physical/Mental Health information sessions for students during our Heron Hike Fun Run Week Nov 17-21.
Please come to our planning meeting on Oct 29th at 8:30am or you can email fundraiser.lgcsptsa@gmail.com to get involved. What a great way to get your volunteer hours for the school!

Ms. Jessica - Got Books (Primary) donor project focuses on primary students (K-2nd). Through the collections of leveled readers I have requested, my young students will be able to develop their skills in decoding and fluency. After learning and recognizing sound patterns in words, my students will be able to experience discovering those patterns through authentic experiences in literature with these books. In addition, each child in my small group will be able to have their own book to read, follow along as their peers read, or follow along as they listen to the accompanying CD. Read all about her donation project and donate here
