CHAUTAUQUA'S NEW BROCHURE:
The Waxahachie Parks Dept. and the Chautauqua Preservation Society have come together to produce a brand new Chautauqua brochure.
It tells the story of the Auditorium, its old & new purposes, and, of course, it tells about the Chautauqua Assembly. It mentions the groups that regularly use the building: The Waxahachie Community Theatre, the Old-Fashioned Singers, and of course, our Chautauqua organization.

"WORLD OF WATER
on September 24, 2016Old-Fashioned Singers Will Kick Off 2016 Chautauqua Yes, we’ll gather at the river, The beautiful, the beautiful river;
These words will reverberate in the Chautauqua Auditorium at the 2016 Chautauqua. The powerful voices of the Old-Fashioned Singers will lead off the Chautauqua at 9am on 9/24 with this hymn and other water-related and river-related and ocean-related old gospel songs.
Waxahachie's Old Fashioned Singing Project is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and enjoyment of brush-arbor revivalist music as it occurred in the southern United States in the first half of the 20th Century.
Three times a year these singers present "Heaven's Front Porch" at the Chautauqua Auditorium. This is a staged musical featuring southern congregational songs from the Revivalist movement as sung in white-framed churches, tent revivals, and under brush arbors. Their next performances will May 20 & 21. Learn more at: Old-Fashioned Singers
Soloist Announced for Harpsichord Water MusicWhen the harpsichord music of Dr. Larry Palmer comes to Chautauqua in September, we will also be lucky to hear the voice of tenor Michael Alonzo as he eloquently sings about water!
