FCA AWARDS:
DEADLINE EXTENDED THROUGH MARCH 15!

The awards competition is open to all current members of FCA, and awards will be presented at the 2016 FCA Annual Conference in Washington, DC, during the final banquet on Friday, May 13.

REMINDER: Your organization must complete the
2016 Annual Dues Form and remit payment prior to the awards deadline (March 15, 2016).


The Evin C. Varner, Jr. Fraternal Communications Award
This award honors one who performs extraordinary fraternal services, achieves peer respect and possesses a spirit of assistance and kindness.
The Marilyn Simpson Ford Distinguished Service Award
This award honors one who has diligently worked to advance the Association’s Vision and Purpose.

THE 2016 FCA ANNUAL CONFERENCE
MAY 11–13, 2016 | WASHINGTON, DC

The 2016 FCA Annual Conference will take place May 11-13, 2016 at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The meeting will begin with pre-conference workshops on Wednesday afternoon and conclude Friday evening with the annual Awards Banquet. Please make your travel plans to arrive on Wednesday, May 11 and depart Saturday, May 14. More specific information will be available soon. Details and updates can be found here:

THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
FCA is seeking volunteers to join the Annual Conference Committee! The committee helps plan logistics and programming, including an off-site event, the Annual Conference intern program, the FCA Accolades program and more. The committee meets monthly via conference call and helps on-site at the conference. The committee is a great way to learn more about FCA and no previous FCA volunteer experience is required.

NOMINATION FORM: FCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Following the application deadline, candidates will be interviewed by the Nominations Committee. A slate of candidates will be presented to the FCA Board of Directors at least one month prior to the 2016 Annual Conference. The membership at large will vote on the proposed slate at the Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Board of Directors terms are for two years. PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR MEMBERS:
ANNUAL CONFERENCE INTERNS WANTED!

Undergraduate and graduate students will again have the opportunity to serve as interns for the FCA Annual Conference. Students seeking a career in communications, journalism and related fields are encouraged to apply. Intern responsibilities include staffing conference registration, posting signage, assisting with educational workshops and providing frontline customer service to conference attendees. Interns will receive complimentary conference registration, all meals, a double-occupancy room at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, and a travel stipend of up to $350. Interns must be available throughout the duration of the conference. If your organization has a presence at the following universities in the DC area, please encourage their members to apply: American University,  George Washington University,  Georgetown University and Howard University.

2016 FCA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
If you haven't done so already, be sure to complete your Membership Renewal Form for 2016! Membership in FCA is just $300 per organization each year. This gives your organization unlimited staff involvement, discounts on our conference registrations, eligibility for FCA awards and more. Only one representative from each organization will need to fill out the form.
